Be a Not so Secret Shopper

You know you have lots of opinions about how stores should be treating customers and how they should be maintaining their shops and restaurants. We say put those opinions to good use and pretend to be a not so secret shopper. I did this the other day at a local sandwich shop. My order was really specific because I was ordering for my sister (think Meg Ryan, everything on the side).  I was so impressed that he got the order right and with his patience, that I said I was a secret shopper and he would get a great evaluation. He said I couldn’t be a real one. I wasn’t speaking French. I hadn’t asked about their specials, and I didn’t check out their washrooms before ordering. I said we changed up the protocol because, like him, people were onto us. Told him to keep up the great work.  This threw him off his game a bit.

I did this once before at a horrible motel in Europe. Buckets everywhere catching water. Had reserved online and when I saw the rat infiltration “motel” insisted on my money back. They didn’t budge even when I asked to speak to their head office. Got my money back right away though when I whipped out my camera and said the footage and my report would be on the local news. My first picture was of their sign outside the lobby. Works every time. So, be a not so secret shopper and let them know when you are impressed and when you aren’t. Sample all the merchandise. Get yours of the stores. Pop into the back rooms.

You can improve customer service worldwide one lie at a time.  You’ll feel empowered!

Bless Your Driving

Have you ever tried keeping your eyes open when sneezing? It’s physically impossible. I’d like to see the stats on how many car accidents are caused by drivers sneezing. Especially those that have the doubles. News reporter would say something like “and this just in, be on the look out for a different kind of sneeze guard. 4 car pile up this afternoon due to a deadly driver seasonal attack of allergies. News at 11”.
