A woman muttered under her breath “Crabby pants” as someone she knew was walking away.

Lesson? People can hear you. Keep doing it though. It makes us strangers laugh!

Kissing Accidents

Have you ever had a kissing accident? I have had a few. Like when you both go the same way with your head and can’t reach each other’s cheeks?  Has it happened with your parents? Your friends’ spouses? At holiday parties with co-workers?

There should be a general rule about the direction we head first. Otherwise we are bopping chicken heads for minutes. What about the smashing of teeth? Ridiculous and funny because you have to pretend nothing unusual is happening.

Once I got a lift home from a play group mom I had just met. She wouldn’t stop talking all night. When she stopped at my house, I turned to her to say thank you, and our lips touched by accident! Why she was that close or would think to lean in to kiss a complete stranger goodnight in the front seat of a car I’ll never know. I was in complete shock that it happened. She wasn’t. She talked up until it happened, and kept talking about nonsense right after it happened. Didn’t acknowledge the accident at all!

Lesson? No front seat leaning with strangers and no regrets!

Polly’s in Trouble!

When someone needs May’s help, she sings this song from the cartoon underdog

“When Polly’s in trouble, I dare not slow, it’s hip hip hip and away I go!”

It’s funnier because she then takes off super slow with her cane.

Lesson? We can all help each other, no matter what is going wrong in our own life. It’s even more fun when singing a theme song!

Hurry up and Panic!

Eric’s computer stopped working as he was building a new one.

Hailey laughed and started running around the house shouting “It’s time to panic everyone! Let’s all panic!”

Lesson? There are times in life when it is time to panic. The louder the better!

Don’t do things half way. Throw your whole body and soul into it!

At Second Glance

Ray came in the house all nervous this morning. He said there was a white cat under his van tires. His daughter was studying animal health technologies at the time. She went out to rescue the cat. She came in shaking her head as teenagers do to their fathers.

“It wasn’t a white cat. It was a white plastic bag!”

Lesson? As you get older, get your eyesight checked every year and whatever you do, never say anything definitively to your teenagers.
